Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year

-------

Happy New Year to All! We rang in the New Year up at our Neighbors...guess that is life with two little ones now...But we had a blast!!! Ashten was Amazing (he slept most of it) and Preston made it til Midnight...what a trooper! He even did a New Year's toast with his buddy Brent..
Yes, everyone was shocked as I handed my champagne glass over to my two year old to indulge...It was quite a chuckle for me as they all gasped...but I let them in on the little secret that by Midnight...Mommy had switched to water!
The New Year has been quite busy thus far...Besides general house cleaning and pick up, we have been busy seeing friends, going to Bday parties, and having fun playing with lots of new toys.. At one of the Bday parties, Preston found himself a mask...Look out Batman 12--I think we have a potential candidate for the Batman!
We have also had a few milestones...Ashten has now official rolled over from Front to Back (he's done it 4 times now) so I believe it is not just a fluke....What a BIG boy he is becoming already...He did the Back to Front roll awhile back...He has also found his hands and loves when his Big Brother plays with him...or atleast in front of him to watch....
Preston also had his two year old Parents as Teachers test...which he did pass...thankfully--I wasn't quite sure if he would since he did not want to answer any of Ms Amy's questions at first...Imagine that...My son a shy one...well it didn't last too long I can assure you that..but the questions were tough...and some answers even suprised mommy...He had to do alot like: stack small blocks, count them, tell her his friends names, what it meant to be hungry, thirsty, and tired, answer questions about a serious of pictures, stand on one leg, jump and leap over things...What a big boy he has become!

Christmas Time!!

Christmas Time!!
------
We had a wonderful Christmas this year....and after the hustle and bustle of the past two weeks...I have a few pictures to share...We had a great time at home on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as just a family of four before heading out to Iowa to see the family....Here are a few of the pic's from our trip....
Enjoying good food with the cousin's...
The boys....Grampa Steve, Jason, Preston and Ashten...

Preston, Aiden and Ainsley....looking for the missing car.....good thing Aunt Kathy came to the rescue...and Yes I have pictures...Kathy can thank me later for not posting that one...

Preston and Aiden...I think they had a good time as usual playing...

The cousin's created their own game of pool.....thankfully no fingers were smashed...

On Saturday--we decided a trip to Nina and Papa's version of Chuckee Cheese....Fun City was in order...it was not so Fun for us in the beginning (or atleast not mommy)...Preston and Ashten were a little overly tired and ready for bed by 5pm....they however both warmed up a little as the night went on....one of Preston's favorite activities was of course using the ticket muncher with Aunt Lisa!
Godfather Chris and his Girlfriend, Maddie
Although not many naps were found by the two boys....Ashten did find a cozy spot on Nina for a slight nap....
Preston and Papa enjoying what else...but a snack...

Uncle...oops--I mean Godfather Chris and Ashten...

Aunt Lisa, Dustin and Tanner and the boys....
Lots and Lots of gifts were opened over the holidays...all of which have been used and enjoyed already...We really had an AMAZING christmas and think we got all that we wanted.....we are so thankful and blessed!
Sorry--love the cuddle time we have in the mornings with the boys...no they do not sleep with us...but they do LOVE to wake Daddy up since he always seems to sleep later than us...and being in someone else's home was no different!

Before we left town, Preston and Ashten had a few visitors...Jace stopped by to open exchange a gift..and oh my...I think I forgot how adorable he is in person!!

and the Debi and Kirsten came by to play Santa as well...

Kirsten is quite the little helper...I really wish she lived closer to us...perhaps I can talk her parents into moving....*hint *hint!
As I said we had a great time visiting family and enjoying the holidays as a family of four...it was quite hectic at times--I am not going to lie..but think I live off that sometimes....We are glad to be home and getting back on a schedule though...the boys are just not the same when they are out of their environment and schedules...The tree is down, decorations are put away and we are just working on getting everything back into order...that may take awhile though..

The Days Before Christmas...

The Days Before Christmas....

--------
The Days Before Christmas have been filled with lots of activity in preparation of the BIG day....My sons were dressed in the dreaded (but cute) matching sweaters....
and we went to a "Christmas Birthday Party" as Preston calls it with our BFSG group last week...and they exchanged gifts and ate lots of yummy food...Definitely our kind of party! Funny how I kept trying to correct my son that it was a Christmas Party not a Birthday Party....only to realize he was actually right if you think about it...it is after all a celebration of Jesus' Birthday...I think we have a genius on our hands....Here is the group...minus Ms Lucy and Zoey...
We have also had lots of cold and snowy weather...Preston BEGGED to put on his snowboots and go outside during one of our recent bouts of snow...Obviously, not worried about needing snowpants...don't worry Mommy took the time (30 minutes) to get all bundled up...for 2 minutes of play in the snow before Preston was "ALL Done"...We didn't even have time to take a picture...He informed me he did not like the snow and it was time to go in for a snack...Honestly--It didn't bother me, Mommy does not like the snow either!
After realizing none of us like the snow...we came up with a new plan for the next frigid day that involved eating...a love of everyone's in this house...We built a Gingerbread Christmas tree...It was a team effort...and every bulb was placed by Mr P...We were quite impressed!
and Daddy and Ashten have been doing a lot of this lately as they prepare for the big day...yes, they need their energy to open all the fun gifts!!
Mommy has been having a blast out amongst the crazy shoppers looking for last minute things on the christmas list...Yes, I am nutty because I truly do love the madness and chaos...only though when I am by myself and I can swoop in and out...it is my own little private paradise of fun...

Ashten's Two Month Check-up

Ashten's Two Month Check-up

-------

We had Ashten's two month check-up on Monday...yes it seems late to me too as he is what almost 2 1/2...but anyways we braved the cold weather (3 degrees) and Mommy got to experience life in a Dr's office with P man and A man...let's just say Preston entertained the entire waiting room...

Here are the stats:

Height: 24 inches-75%

Weight:11lbs 11oz--45%

Head-95%

The Dr says Ashten looks amazing and is doing very, very well...She is extremely pleased with his weight gain and other growths...she has no concerns at all...in fact she says he seems to be ahead of the curve..just like his big brother....lifting his head so well and in holding his own on the conversational side of the exam.....I cannot tell you how fast time is flying with Ashten...he is already sitting up on Daddy's lap and cooing and laughing at anything we do....He is so sweet, loves attention....and MOTION...suprise, suprise!

How Many Days til Christmas???

How Many Days 'til Christmas???

------

So Christmas is arriving a little sooner than Mommy and this family anticipated this year...where has the time gone...I guess that is what life is like with a newborn and a toddler...or so they tell me...I am obviously not ready and doing more fretting than anything about...Daddy has been very busy lately working and thus leaving little time to get out and get things done...oh well...all will be done in time I am sure.....

My two little reindeer getting ready to set up the tree....

Preston helping Daddy put up our glorious fake tree...sorry Mommy has no time to deal with a real one...
Ashten doing his fair share of the Christmas decorating...
and the final product with my big boy....crazy how they grow up so much in one year!
We also had our first Christmas party .....my two boys sitting for a great photo op!
and the big group!
and one final "cheese" from Preston...He is totally in this fake smile mode these days and whenever the camera is around he says "1, 2, 3 ..cheese"....Absolutely adorable...

Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving Break

-------

Turkey Day was DELICIOUS as always...and as always we ALL ate way too much....It was a great trip to see the grandparents, do some christmas shopping and hanging out with family and friends....and unfortunately we misplaced the camera and therefore took very few pic's...Sorry for lacking in my mommy duties...Here are the few we did get....
Nina, Preston and Ashten in a little cuddle time...
Papa and Ashten working on taking their afternoon nap...
Preston giving Godfather Chris some love...
Preston helping his buddy Jace down the steps...he thinks now that he is a Big Brother..everyone smaller than him needs his help...
Preston and Ashten also got to spend a lot of quality time with his other Grandparents and Daddy while Mommy shopped, but there was not one photo taken by Daddy (we already had a talk)...but they did have fun exploring in the woods behind their house and going to the Lighted Parade...
Mommy would just like to note that Thanksgiving or...er..the Day after has got to be becoming one of her favorite days of the year...On thursday...we get to relax, eat yummy food, remember all the blessings we have to be thankful for....scavange the sale ads...and Then on Friday it is fun, fun, fun shopping madness all by herself...thank you daddy for letting me have my day..
