"I Think I'll Make a Good Big Brother"

" I Think I'll Make a Good Big Brother"

-----------

One of the most common questions we have been having lately is whether or not we think Preston will make a Good Big Brother...When you think about this --how do you really respond? We hope so, we think so....Honestly I don't think he knows what is about to "hit him" until the baby actually arrives...but he does lovingly refer to my belly bump as "Baby Sprout" and insists on kissing and rubbing it daily...Which is very cute! Either way--the baby is coming and he will have to learn to be a Good Big Brother...We are not choosing to take either of them back!
This weekend he got to visit with one of his Best Buddies from Iowa and although Jace is not a baby--Preston definetely treated him as if he was his little Brother...He held his hand and showed him around the water fountain and up and down the stairs.....
(Although his Mommy had to be reinforcement with the stairs...)
He helped feed Jace his Apple....and for those of you who haven't been around Preston this is actually a HUGE accomplishment...Usually if Preston can get a hold of ANY food it goes in his mouth and his mouth only....He does not like to share his food...but this was Jace's apple and he like a Big Brother periodically checked to see if Jace needed another bite...so not to starve on our big outing...
He gave him lots of hugs and didn't drop him to the floor...
Taught him about finding a good spot in front of the TV--and self entertain while Mommy's were busy .....
You'll even notice he shared with Jace one of his most prized possessions these days--a Dinosaur...Hopefully this is a good indication of what is to come...we have seen similiar behaviour with actual baby-babies...but we'll have to see what happens when Sprout makes his permanent appearance...and he does not go away after a day...So for now it seems Preston's answer is "Yes, I think I'll Make a Good Big Brother"

Glimpse into the Future!

Glimpse into the Future!

-------

We had a Glimpse into our future this week.....

Introducing our first (non 2D Pictures) photos of baby Sprout!!

Isn't he absolutely perfect???

Showing some attitude by sticking out his tongue! He was very cooperative and super playful once we woke him up....

I do have to say that although I ended up being upside down (as I was when we did Preston's 3D sonogram), Sprout cooperated a little more than when we did Preston's. We have 65 or so GREAT pictures as compared to 10 or so with Preston...it was an absolutely amazing and magnificant bonding experience...I am so glad that Daddy insisted we do this with Sprout since we did it with Preston...I expected the pictures to look a lot more like Preston's 3D photo's but they are totally different...Don't get me wrong--I think they do have similiar features but they were still very different... What do you think...here is Preston's 3D photo??

If you ever have the opportunity to do the 3D sonogram, I would highly recommend it...I cannot explain the exhilerating high that it gave to both Daddy and I....We can't wait to meet this little man...I am sure that he is going to be just as beautiful of a baby as Preston was....and still is...

--------

Yes, I did not forget...As promised here is the 30 week photo.....not the most glamorous shot....and REALLY I don't think it puts into perspective quite how large I really am already.....I am not sure if it is the photographer or the camera....but for some reason we have a tough time getting a good shot...Anyways I should be thankful for the "blurryness" it keeps you guessing...I really don't know where the pregnancy glow is...I think it misses me everytime...
Our Dr's visit went fine this week and the heartrate was beating at 158....we are to return within 2 weeks for our next follow up...She prescribed the "purple pill" to help with nauseness I have been having lately...I had to take it the last time I was pregnant too and it seemed to help....so hopefully it does the trick again....

Our Tadpoles!

Our Tadpoles!

------

Preston has adapted well to pool, once again! He thoroughly loves swimming and commonly it is the first thing he asks for when he wakes and the last thing he talks about before bed....I honestly do not know what we are going to do when summer is over...the poor little man may go through withdrawal or something....In addition to becoming obsessed with swimming...he is also now in love with NEMO....yes NEMO....I think Mommy now knows every word to this movie....It has officially become his second favorite flick (behind Elmo in Grouchland)....good thing Mommy enjoys the movie as well....
--------
Our other "Tadpole" is making his presence known quite often at night making it nearly impossible for Mommy to be comfortable or to sleep...It usually starts around 6pm and is on a steady decline for the rest of the night...I swear he is way more active than Preston ever was or perhaps it is because he loves to dance on my bladder --I honestly think he may fall through one of these days...My Doctor assures me this is not possible... We have an appointment tomorrow with our Dr and are now going every two weeks...I CANNOT believe we are already at 30 weeks....too much to do and too little time!! I will update more on Sprout after our appointment and hopeful get a new "Bump Watch" shot up...sorry --I truly do avoid the camera when Preggers!
-----
On to some fun water picks......
We went to a local water park with our friend Ella and her Mommy Shanna---It was an awesome time--wish the sun was out a little more but nevertheless the kids had a great time...Preston especially liked the small slide....
and proclaims over and over now that "water park fun" We can't wait to go again and actually are hoping to make a new water park this Tuesday with some more friends....
Preston also has learned that he can crawl around on just his hands in the shallow area and loves to put his mouth under water...Unfortunately we are still working on "NOT" drinking the water but he is not gagging so I guess he is just swallowing it at this time and nothing to worry about too much according to a pediatrician neighbor...
Preston's other favorite activities include:
+putting on a life vest and attempting to float in the deep water
+jumping off the side of the pool into our arms
+attempting to swim by kicking his feet and moving his arms
+attempting to plug his nose and putting his face under water
+attempting to blow bubbles
Notice--I did say attempting...He succeeds once in awhile but still loves to try...

Lost Pictures

Lost Pictures

-------

Baby Sprout had best come sooner than later if Mommy expects to have any brain cells left by the time he arrives...Mommy thought she had lost all of her pictures from the trip that Preston's buddy Jace made to visit....thankfully Daddy finally swooped in and saved the day...Here are some of our favorites from our day at the farmstead and at a local kid's place!

Showing Jace the animals....just in case he didn't see them himself!

Finding higher ground after being "attacked" by the hungry goats!

Deciding it was bout time to take the Mommy's and Daddy's home for a nap...they looked hot and exhausted!
Showing Daddy how the experiments works!
Sharing a snack with a good friend...
Preston LOVED hangin out with his buddy Jace...even though Preston thought he might not have like hanging out with him...but after a long talk it was determined that Jace was just mad at his mommy and daddy over something else....and that is why he was in a bad mood...Jace told Preston he would be much happier next time!

The 4th of July

The 4th of July

---------

We had a pretty amazing holiday!!! It started off with Daddy being able to take the day off and help us celebrate!!! We had to wake up early on Friday (8am) to make sure that we were dressed and ready to go for the annual Neighborhood 4th of July Parade....This is Preston's second appearance ...and this year he was able to ride with his buddy " Jack , Jack" in the bicycle chain designed by Jack, Jack's daddy...also in the train are Jack's sister Grace and her friend Michelle...
Here are the cutie's getting to jump in their ride!
Pretty "spiffy" train, eh???
I have to say it was one of the best entries...I'm not biased though....
The boy's conserving energy before the big trek around the neighborhood....Our parade is growing every year...I think there were about 50-60 kids that participated this year...and they all seem to really enjoy decking out their bikes, wagons, strollers, themselves...whatever!
After the hot ride in the parade, we decided it was best to cool off at the pool prior to nap...It was very refreshing and Daddy and Mr P were able to show off their matching tatoo's (which Preston hated by the way..)
After swimming and a long family nap (gosh I LOVE those!) we headed up for a BBQ party at our neighbors....which was also amazing!!! Unfortunately, Preston's teeth were bothering him and he was a little upset for awhile...until the med's kicked in and then he was fine again...thank goodness because Preston really liked the fireworks and it would have been a shame for him to have to miss them all bc of the silly teeth....

By Request

By Request

-------

It seems that Mommy most definetely has "baby brain"...for those of you who don't know what this is....it pertains to the fact that you are utterly clueless while carrying a child within you...all the blood that previously traveled to your own brain is now diverted to the baby...thus making you (for a lack of a better word...) dumb! It has come to my attention that Preston has had several visitors in the last month and therefore they should have made the BLOG...via picture...not just through words....so my mistake...and by request ....here they are......
Great Uncle Joe and Aunt Mag at Lake Panarama!
Great Uncle Larry and Preston enjoying Breakfast at the breakfast nook...with Nana in the background...
Papa and Preston (eating...again!)
Nana and Preston
-----
For some reason Aunt Kathy avoided all of my paparrazi attempts to get a shot...I think I was just a little lazy and unable to hold the camera up too much this weekend or something...anyways....We are completely sorry for the misunderstanding and lack of pictures posted from the previous entry ...please accept our apology....

Monthly Update!
-----------

Okay, okay, once again.....this is totally not acceptable blogging behaviour but I have once again slacked on my ability to post a new blog...It has nothing to do with our lives being boring as Preston has attained or improved many new skills over the past month such as speaking in sentences, going down the stairs without holding the handrail, or sleeping in a big boy bed, eating a "real" bowl of cereal complete with milk, throwing temper tantrums., our infatuation with watching the movie "NEMO"...but rather due to the fact that Mommy is EXTREMELY exhausted being pregnant and chasing a 22 month old toddler with an attitude around....My "usual" blogging time is done when Preston is napping or down for the night...unfortunately now...when Preston goes down....Sprout and I also go down....I honestly did not know it was possible to be this tired all the time!
----
We have been busy this past month as well which could have also contributed to our lack of blogging...We traveled to Iowa to visit family at Lake Panarama--Mommy and Daddy enjoyed playing a round a golf (yes we did have hobby's prior to kids) and Preston loved the attention and spent hours throwing golf balls in the sand traps...We were hoping to see our buddy Jace at the zoo on this trip, but they were fighting the aweful rain and fearing the flooding waters...thankful all is well with them now and Jace's Mommy's shoes are safe!
-----
We also had visitors for a golf excursion week--Preston's Nana and Papa and Great Aunt Kathy and Uncle Larry...Preston is REALLY attached to Nana and Papa and had one of the largest tantrums Mommy has seen to date when they would leave Preston behind...The saddest part is that I couldn't stop thinking how cute and sweet it was for him to be so upset!
-----
Mommy has also had another Sonogram this month and the Choroid Plexis Cyst is gone!!! Yeah!! Little Sprout is looking great and measuring a whopping 2lbs 2oz already!! His heartbeat has been holding steady around the 140's. He is however Breach at this point..but still has time to turn for us...we will just have to wait and see...Our monthy Dr's visit went fine as well... Mommy got the RH shot, did her glucose blood draw...and got to listen to the heartbeat again...The Dr's only concern is that Jason and I are not able to name this child......I told her it was very much a concern of mine too....So with that...we are seriously open to any suggestions...15 baby name books into this pregnancy and no possible names-- I have about had it...
-----
Okay-Here are a few pic's over the past month.....
Preston assisting in the building of his big boy bed.....
Checking out his cousin's baseball game---an unrealized love for the P man...
Attending his first Birthday Party outside of someone's home...
(Airzone...another love for Preston jumping and climbing)
The one and only time Mommy has given Preston the milk and the cereal together for breakfast....he actually did suprising well and am unsure why I am still being lazy and not providing him this luxury more often...
------
Hope everyone has a safe and Happy 4th of July....Preston will be riding once again in his neighborhood Parade and celebrating with friends of the neighborhood...Hopefully it wont take as long to post afterwards!!!
