Ashten's Baptism

Ashten's Baptism
------
Last Weekend was Ashten's Holy Baptism...We had hoped to do it sooner but the holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas mysteriously got in the way...so therefore he was Baptized last weekend at 4 months...Both sets of Grandparents and Godfather Chris, Godmother Lisa (and family) were in attendance...It was as you could say, quite eventful..for a Baptism!
Here Daddy is handing Ashten his Holy Cross (given to him by Godfather Chris) at the Church where it was brought to be blessed...Daddy had a very large brain lapse (who gives a 4 month old something to hold and expects them to hold it)...as he actually GAVE him the breakable cross, which YES was broken by Ashten as he threw it to the floor...
Gramma Chris holding Ashten in his handsome Baptismal gown (made by Gramma Nina) that his big brother, Preston, also wore....
Ashten being blessed with the holy water...and yes he screamed bloody murder!
Ashten also felt it was necessary to bless his pacifier and tossed it in the holy water for Father to retreive..(See father drip drying the pacifier, mommy doing the mortified "oops" face, Godfather Chris breaking in laughter, and Godmother Lisa trying not to break into a smirk)
The Godparents-Aunt Lisa and Uncle Chris with Ashten and Father Matthew
Mommy, Daddy, Godparents, Ashten and Father
The Family photo with my side after the ceremony
and the family photo with the other Grandparents..(sorry the camera died before we got the shot of Daddy's side of the family)
Ashten posing with his cake..which by the way was late getting done and had his name initially spelled wrong when Mommy went to pick it up...
at home barely safe (Daddy almost put us in the ditch) to open presents...
As I stated it was an eventful day...and there were surely more "oops" moments in the day, but who really wants to hear about all of them...Ashten's Baptism was certainly memorable and we thank everyone who came to be part of it...onto more fun pic's from the weekend

Godfather Chris with both of his nephews....
Preston opening presents with Papa...it was Valentine's Day...here he is reading one of his many cards and notice the adorable puppy he received in the front ground of the pic watching over everything...

Ashten chillin with Papa

On Sunday, we decided to go over to Dave n Busters for some good food and family fun...Godfather Chris making Ashten bust up laughing..

Preston and his toy from the tickets...

Daddy and Preston racing the motorcycle against Papa...as the family watched on...

Papa and Ashten....

and Papa and Ashten one more time before we they left....I don't think Papa let to many other people hold A man this weekend...He got a lot of attention and love and he enjoyed every minute of it!

and before Nina and Papa left they gave Preston a "Time out" mat...which Preston decide it was only appropriate to get to use it ...unfortunately...he thinks it is AWESOME and now when he goes to Time Out he requests it as if it were a special treat....therefore I don't think it is serving it's purpose

Thanks again to everyone for a great weekend...we love seeing the family and spending time with them whenever we can...and the boys love it even more...very upset when everyone was gone!

Monster Jam

Monster Jam

------

On Saturday, Daddy and Preston decided they need some "boy" time and headed out to the "MONSTER JAM" truck rally/race and left Mommy and Ashten behind....Good idea too because I guess it was extremely loud and smoky from all the exhaust fumes...Daddy still claims he smells..
of course little P had to call his Mommy to tell her all about the BIG trucks!
I think it was all a little intimidating to Preston still...In order to get him to warm up to the BIG trucks, Daddy invented the game..."kick the tires"...good idea Daddy!
Although he was very well behaved and watch intently--I was told he really just had the look of shock on his face the entire time...
It was good for them to get out together and for Mommy to have just Ashten time. After the boys arrived home, we went to a Progressive Dinner around the neighborhood and had a FABULOUS time...Unfortunately Daddy misplaced the Diaper Bag early in the night and we didn't get any pictures...I am sure Daddy may have planned this as it was probably best we didn't get any pictures of him that night...

Elmo Live!

Elmo Live!!

------
Preston got to take in his first BIG show with Mommy at the Sprint Center on Monday and BOY was it a BIG ONE!!! Elmo and all the Sesame Street Characters were in town and Mommy decided that it was a perfect "date" to take her little man too...and wow was I right...he loved it...Let me say that again...HE LOVED IT! Seriously without a doubt --the best money spent...including the ripoff $10 parking...I told him quite early in the week which was good and bad...the excitment of going to see ELMO was almost too much too handle...and everytime we left the house--he thought we might be going...every other word he spoke was a question about the show...So when it was actually time and he got to put on his ELMO attire it was amazing!
a thanking kiss to Mommy for the tickets...
Waiting to pick up our tickets at will call...When we pulled up to the Sprint Center...I think it was a little intimidating...the building is HUGE...My little man was a little nervous and wanted me to carry him....it was very cute...
a phone call to Daddy to share in the excitment of where he was at...and yes...we already made a call to Nina and Papa on the road....He kept asking if I was ready and if I was excited...
No show is complete without the SUGAR.....a little cotton candy and juice...
and the stars of the show..our seats were pretty high up, but they were awesome seats....I was a little worried he may lose interest...but nope...NOT a chance....it's ELMO!
the visor must have been impending his view or dance moves....so he turned it around! Yes, yes he danced up a storm and for those sitting around us...I think they got quite a chuckle out of how much Preston LOVED the show...
on the way out, he was ready to do it again....I tried to explain it was over...but he kept insisting we go back...tears were shed, fake tears were shed...and then finally a short nap on the way home...It was a very long show and I too was quite exhausted ...when we got home however...tears were shed again...as he wanted to go back...it is so hard to explain it all to a toddler...It was an amazing afternoon though...and can't wait for another "date" with my little cutie!
