Clowning Around....

Clowning Around...

----

This past Wednesday, Mommy, got to take a well deserved (atleast I think so ) night out with the girls...Daddy was gracious enough to stay at home with the boys and give Mommy some girl time...It was a lot of fun, but definetely am looking forward to a night out with just Daddy next time...Here we are "clowning around" with the camera before I left...
We haven't done a self portrait in awhile...
Ashten not happy Mommy was leaving....he is spoiled for sure!
Preston Cheezin with Mommy!
I think the boys had fun with "boy time" atleast that is what I am told...and I am lucky to have a hubby that enjoys and takes his "boy time"!

"It's HUGE Mommy!"

It's HUGE Mommy!"

--------

Today, Preston and I woke up...went downstairs...got our cereal ...and turned on the TV...although rather than turning on Sesame Street (as usually) Mommy turned the TV on to NBC...Preston inquired "What's that Mommy?? It's HUGE!"....Yes, indeed I told him...it's HUGE in more ways than one...He was looking at the crowd of people gathered to watch the inauguration of Barack Obama....So all morning he kept tell me "It's the inauguration Mommy, it's huge.." What a great memory to have on such a momentous day!!

-------

Not too much new to report on the homefront...Ashten is still giving us quite a stir prior to bedtime..He is so soo soooooo tired, but really hates nightime and the dark...Poor guy...He must learn to "get over it" as Mommy and Daddy are urging on the brink of sleep deprivation...Okay-maybe not that bad...but things do need to change...His process usually starts with fussiness from 5:30 on...until he nurses and goes to bed at 7-7:30ish...and then cries for the next two hours...He is however sleeping longer now (once he falls asleep) and only waking once in the early morning hours (4:30-6:30ish) to nurse...and then going back to bed...
Preston has become a MAJOR fan of football...and loves nothing more (other than cartoons...of course) than to watch Football with Daddy and wear his Chiefs jersey ...Of course Ashten must wear his as well....yes, we know the Chiefs are not playing but he still feels he must be in uniform!
Ashten has also been introduced to the Bumbo...something we have never done with Preston...He enjoys the view for a few...but Mommy is still worried he is a tad young to sit in their too long...His poor head looks awefully heavy for those tiny shoulders!
and floor time is another favorite in our home...this is Ashten's view...

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year

-------

Happy New Year to All! We rang in the New Year up at our Neighbors...guess that is life with two little ones now...But we had a blast!!! Ashten was Amazing (he slept most of it) and Preston made it til Midnight...what a trooper! He even did a New Year's toast with his buddy Brent..
Yes, everyone was shocked as I handed my champagne glass over to my two year old to indulge...It was quite a chuckle for me as they all gasped...but I let them in on the little secret that by Midnight...Mommy had switched to water!
The New Year has been quite busy thus far...Besides general house cleaning and pick up, we have been busy seeing friends, going to Bday parties, and having fun playing with lots of new toys.. At one of the Bday parties, Preston found himself a mask...Look out Batman 12--I think we have a potential candidate for the Batman!
We have also had a few milestones...Ashten has now official rolled over from Front to Back (he's done it 4 times now) so I believe it is not just a fluke....What a BIG boy he is becoming already...He did the Back to Front roll awhile back...He has also found his hands and loves when his Big Brother plays with him...or atleast in front of him to watch....
Preston also had his two year old Parents as Teachers test...which he did pass...thankfully--I wasn't quite sure if he would since he did not want to answer any of Ms Amy's questions at first...Imagine that...My son a shy one...well it didn't last too long I can assure you that..but the questions were tough...and some answers even suprised mommy...He had to do alot like: stack small blocks, count them, tell her his friends names, what it meant to be hungry, thirsty, and tired, answer questions about a serious of pictures, stand on one leg, jump and leap over things...What a big boy he has become!

Christmas Time!!

Christmas Time!!
------
We had a wonderful Christmas this year....and after the hustle and bustle of the past two weeks...I have a few pictures to share...We had a great time at home on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as just a family of four before heading out to Iowa to see the family....Here are a few of the pic's from our trip....
Enjoying good food with the cousin's...
The boys....Grampa Steve, Jason, Preston and Ashten...

Preston, Aiden and Ainsley....looking for the missing car.....good thing Aunt Kathy came to the rescue...and Yes I have pictures...Kathy can thank me later for not posting that one...

Preston and Aiden...I think they had a good time as usual playing...

The cousin's created their own game of pool.....thankfully no fingers were smashed...

On Saturday--we decided a trip to Nina and Papa's version of Chuckee Cheese....Fun City was in order...it was not so Fun for us in the beginning (or atleast not mommy)...Preston and Ashten were a little overly tired and ready for bed by 5pm....they however both warmed up a little as the night went on....one of Preston's favorite activities was of course using the ticket muncher with Aunt Lisa!
Godfather Chris and his Girlfriend, Maddie
Although not many naps were found by the two boys....Ashten did find a cozy spot on Nina for a slight nap....
Preston and Papa enjoying what else...but a snack...

Uncle...oops--I mean Godfather Chris and Ashten...

Aunt Lisa, Dustin and Tanner and the boys....
Lots and Lots of gifts were opened over the holidays...all of which have been used and enjoyed already...We really had an AMAZING christmas and think we got all that we wanted.....we are so thankful and blessed!
Sorry--love the cuddle time we have in the mornings with the boys...no they do not sleep with us...but they do LOVE to wake Daddy up since he always seems to sleep later than us...and being in someone else's home was no different!

Before we left town, Preston and Ashten had a few visitors...Jace stopped by to open exchange a gift..and oh my...I think I forgot how adorable he is in person!!

and the Debi and Kirsten came by to play Santa as well...

Kirsten is quite the little helper...I really wish she lived closer to us...perhaps I can talk her parents into moving....*hint *hint!
As I said we had a great time visiting family and enjoying the holidays as a family of four...it was quite hectic at times--I am not going to lie..but think I live off that sometimes....We are glad to be home and getting back on a schedule though...the boys are just not the same when they are out of their environment and schedules...The tree is down, decorations are put away and we are just working on getting everything back into order...that may take awhile though..
